Which one is right for me?
AMC 8 is for students in grade 8 and below: 25 questions in 40 minutes, and there is no penalty for a wrong answer. It is a great first contest.
AMC 10 is for students in grade 10 and below: 25 questions in 75 minutes, with 6 points for a right answer and 1.5 points for a blank. Strong scorers are invited to the next round, the AIME.
Not sure? If you are in grade 7 or 8 and finding AMC 8 questions easy, try AMC 10 Prep. Many students prepare for both. Contest rules, dates and eligibility can change, so check maa.org for this year's details.
How access works
Partner schools: free. Sign in with your school and password, then each student confirms their own email once.
Families: AMC 8 Prep and AMC 10 Prep are separate yearly passes. Open either course to buy a year of access; the email you pay with becomes your account. You can use the same account for the STEM Explorer, Premium eBooks and Learn Algebra too.
AMC 8 and AMC 10 are competitions of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). Maker Mindz is not affiliated with or endorsed by the MAA. All practice questions in these courses are original and written by Maker Mindz.
